Pizza Mom - She Delivers!

It's close to dinnertime. Some friends just called and said they are on their way over. I used to panic over this scenario, but I've learned to "go with the flow." Besides, through raising my two very social kids, I've had a lot of practice.

My college-age daughter is so impressed with how seemingly effortlessly I've been able to whip something up without expressing so much of an "oh no, what I am I going to make", that she has her friends over all the time.

No problem. Everyone loves pizza.

Quick and Homemade Pizza

  1. I start with refrigerated pizza dough. You can find it in the biscuit section of the grocery store.
  2. Roll it out in a rectangular cookie sheet that has been lightly sprayed with cooking spray.
  3. Drizzle some olive oil across the top and smear it all over.
  4. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, a little red pepper flakes and oregano.

If you want tomato sauce, the store-bought pizza sauces are pretty good. I tend to go without.

Top with any and all pizza toppings that you love. My favorites:

  • spinach
  • tomatoes
  • mushrooms
  • onions
  • olives
  • sausage
  • pepperoni

Top with cheese. Bake according to the package directions, which is usually at 450° for about 12 minutes.

Take it out and let cool for about 5 minutes. Slice and enjoy!

Ruthie - you're right...nothin' beats homemade-at-home. This way, you control and know the ingredients going in...Flutterbug - I hope you will let me know how you like it! Thank you both for your comments!

Sounds delicious! I'll give it a try.

Love pizza and no other way than homemade. Even plain ol hamburger and onion with cheese and mushroom is good made at home!

Also make the "French Bread Pizzas" at home but use the big hogey roles from the bread outlet to save a few cents.

Thanks, Pete. It really is good. I've tried Boboli in the past, and it just isn't the same when you can easily bake the crust along with the toppings. If you try it, I hope you'll let me know what you think. Thanks for your comment!

Sounds good! I have to admit, the last time I made a pizza I used one of those plastic-wrapped Boboli crusts.
